The 2007 edition of the Cape Film Guide is officially out of print. After an incredibly successful year, countless accolades, and international praise, it is time to move on to our third edition.
Because of the overwhelming success of the 2007 edition, we are increasing our print run to 10 000 copies, 5 000 of which will be distributed by the London- based international film directory, Kemps.
The other 5 000 copies are being distributed by the Cape Film Commission, where they will be used as official marketing material for the city at all major international and local film festivals and expos.
The Cape Film Commission (CFC) is the official advocate for the feature film, television, video, commercials, and stills photography production industry in Cape Town and the Western Cape. The core aim of the CFC is to position Cape Town and the Western Cape as a globally competitive location, thereby boosting tourism, job creation and the development of core competencies.
The CFC and the Cape Film Guide have a partnership aimed at creating neutral marketing material for the industry. The Cape Film Guide is the only book of its kind that doesn't contain film company marketing, and can therefore be used by all Cape-based production companies to market themselves, and their province.
The book contains 160, full colour pages, and has a semi-hard cover. It is printed to the highest quality standards, using locally produced paper with Triple-Green Certification.
The Cape Film Guide has five chapters: Production Manual, Western Cape, Where to Stay, Information for Visitors, and Lifestyle Guide. Each chapter is filled with well-written, relevant, current information.
